Make your year-end gift today & it'll be matched up to $35,000!

Mike and Jeannie Scott have been dedicated foster parents with Anna’s House for 7 years, embracing the journey of fostering with love and faith. Over these precious years, they've seen God’s transformative work, including adopting two children, reunifying one, and currently providing a safe, loving home for another. They understand that fostering requires leaning on God’s strength to live out His greatest commandment: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart… and love your neighbor as yourself.”

When the Scott family welcomed Noah into their home, they saw he struggled with feelings of anger and aggression shaped by the hard things he’d witnessed. Noah’s story is not unique. In fact, 80% of children entering foster care need mental health support.

The Scotts saw the importance of helping Noah heal from his trauma and reached out to the Anna’s House Mental Health program. With the support of therapy services, Noah began learning new ways to understand and express his feelings. “We’re busy parents with lots of kids”, shares Jeannie, “and they bring the counseling services to our front door where the therapist meets with him for an hour in our home.” The tools he learned, such as taking deep breaths, counting to three, and recognizing his emotions became a part of his daily life and a source of hope for his future.

Children in foster care desperately need mental health services to help heal from their trauma. This is why Anna’s House feels called to focus on mental health services to help children, like Noah, to thrive.

The beautiful thing is, other children can have the same experience as Noah! And, all it takes is your heart for giving. Our goal is to support 175 foster children and 68 foster families in the next year. Make your gift today through December 31st and your generous gift will be doubled through a match up to $35,000.
